This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts of computer programming using Scratch, a visual programming language developed by MIT. Scratch allows students to create interactive stories, games, and animations through a block-based coding system. By engaging with Scratch, students will develop essential problem-solving skills, computational thinking, and creativity. The curriculum is designed to be engaging and accessible, providing a hands-on approach to learning coding concepts in a fun and supportive environment.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand Basic Programming Concepts: Students will grasp foundational programming concepts such as sequencing, loops, conditionals, and variables.
- Develop Problem-Solving Skills: Students will learn to break down problems into smaller, manageable parts and apply logical reasoning to solve them.
- Enhance Creativity: Students will use Scratch to create their own interactive stories, games, and animations, applying their creativity and imagination.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Students will work in pairs or groups to plan, design, and debug their projects, fostering teamwork and communication skills.
- Apply Computational Thinking: Students will develop skills in planning, designing, and executing projects through iterative testing and debugging.
Prerequisites: None. This course is suitable for beginners with no prior programming experience.
Materials Needed:
- Computer with internet access (Scratch is browser-based).
- Headphones (for sound projects).

Learning Scratch coding fosters essential programming skills by introducing fundamental concepts such as loops, conditionals, and variables, while also enhancing problem-solving and logical thinking. Assessment:
Assessment will be based on completion of projects, participation in class activities, and a final project showcase.
Certification: Certificate of completion provided upon finishing the course requirements.
Course Duration: 32 credit hours – 4 months (Normal Track)
Days & Timings: One-Hour Interactive Class, Twice a Week (Flexible Timings)
Course Format: Normal Track – 2 hours per week, Fast Track – 4 hours per week
